I Still Don't Know How To Dress For LA...

can i tell y’all a secret?

ever since i moved to Los Angeles, i feel like my style has been compromised. getting dressing for functions and events (pre-COVID & now) have been a game of mental gymnastics because the space is just different out here. the best way I can put it is that you’re putting on clothes to look like you’ve tried really hard to look like you didn’t try at all. which is a true paradox if I ever knew one.

a lot of my style has been shaped by the young women of New York and the DMV who helped me cultivate my sense of fashion back in my early college days. i always had a quirk to my looks, but their guidance helped to refine & mature it. they we’re always superior examples for me when it came to how to being expressively cool because it just came naturally to them. it was internal. even though the climate is a lot different here, I’ve still found a way to be me & still feel like a LA resident. but it’s still weird.

so basically, these pants were a really hot attraction on my IG! and would you believe I copped them at Goodwill from like 5.99?? their from Lululemon & the style must be mad rare because I can’t find them online for nothing! but if you know anything about that brand, you know yoga pants are gonna run you at least $120. so can we talk about a steal?! also, i’m a proud member of the tall girl gang, and the fact that these pants hit pass my ankles is a prize in itself. you’ll be seeing me in these a lot coming into the fall.

the top was combination of pieces from Target. they have this really cool brand called Colsie and their loungeware really be hittin’. that’s where the tank is from.

i finished off the look with some platform sandals i copped from Crossroads Trading along with my beloved Telfar mini bag in oxblood.
